Call to Action on Maryland Legislature’s Hearing on House Bill 562

RE:          Call to Action on Maryland Legislature’s Hearing on House Bill 562

A few weeks ago we reported on the Maryland Legislature’s hearing on House Bill 562 which is intended to permanently put in place the mandate requiring HMO plans to pay the EMS agency directly when paying transportation claims.

Since that notification, the Maryland House passed the bill by unanimous vote (138-0) which then moved the initiative on to the Senate. The Senate trail began with a first reading in the Senate Finance Committee on March 16th which subsequently moved the bill to the Senate floor with just a minor procedural amendment (naming all sponsors on the bill itself.) As part of the normal legislative process, the Senate will hold a hearing on the bill on Wednesday, April 1st beginning at 1 p.m.

Now is the time for each of you to reach out to the Maryland State Senator representing your legislative district to urge him/her to support this important piece of corrective legislation!

Guaranteed cash flow during transition.
