RE:         HB 1683 Municipal Tax Breaks for volunteers Signed by Governor

PA-HB 1683 By Warner. Amends Title 35 (Health & Safety) providing for incentives for municipal volunteers of fire companies and nonprofit emergency medical services agencies. - H-Approved by the Governor (Act: 172)

HB 1683 Municipal Tax Breaks for volunteers Signed by Governor

House Bill 1683, grants municipalities the authority to offer active volunteers a property tax credit of up to 20 percent of their tax liability. In addition, the bill would require the state fire commissioner to establish the annual requirements of the credit program for active volunteers, such as the number of calls responded to, the training undertaken, or qualifying participation in the functions of the organization.

This bill allows but does not require municipalities to provide the tax break. You must ask your local elected officials to approve the tax break.

Guaranteed cash flow during transition.
